All Things Gouache

Throughout 2023 I have set myself a personal art challenge which has really helped me to develop my art skills. I usually focus on a specific material so that I can get to know it, and learn how it might (or might not) fit into my personal art practice.

For the month of November (how are we in November already?) I will be focusing on using gouache.

I have a selection of gouache, both traditional and acrylic gouache, but I haven’t really practiced using either of them. I’ve also created ‘dried out’ palettes of gouache – which have seen more use than the wet tube versions, but still – this month will be a real challenge and I am so looking forward to it.

Below is the video talking through the. materials I’ll be using along with the sketchbooks and paper I anticipate using. I can’t wait to report back at the end of the month with my results – wish me luck!
