Setting My July 2024 Art Challenge

I’ve been setting myself a personal art challenge each month since late 2023 as a way of holding myself accountable with practicing my art skills.

For July 2024, I decided to find out some of my art books, and I selected a couple of piece to ‘copy’.

The idea behind doing a ‘master copy’ is that you learn through trying to replicate art from the masters.

It’s not dissimilar to how I was taught at fashion school to analyze the work of my favorite fashion designers and then try to create the pattern for that design. It’s how I got good at pattern making, so it makes sense that copying art might have the same effect.
